Rapper Blakkat Releases Two Singles from Album, "On My Way"

Tracks On My Way and West Representa Released Digitally This Month

Blakkat releases fire in the first singles from his label Blaque Kat Inc. (BKi). With major names and artists from his own label, this Rapper and songwriter is coming onto the scene with some of the best producers in the industry, and he is about to bring West Coast love to the Summer with “West Representa” and a little somethin' special for the ladies as well with the title track, “On My Way”.

The full album, featuring 13 tracks, will be digitally released on June 29 and will be distributed by Island Def Jam Music Group. The disc features such artists as Jagged Edge, Love (formally of Isis), MC Eiht, Mak Dope, CcServa, Nonsense, Illatary & others. “On My Way” also features hard hitting production from some of the best up and coming producers in the industry such as Rocwilder protégé The Presidentz, ATL based Eargasm Productions, BBP, Auditory, XLRG, & Dope House Productions.

Blakkat named his album “On My Way” to show the major record labels that he is… literally. The release is destined to be a hit for clubs and streets. Fans appreciate his music, and his message: “Do You! No matter what it is you do for a living, bring you to the table.”

The daily sen-(HUGE)

Living in California, but influenced by Roger & Zapp, Marvin Gaye, Babyface, Charlie Wilson, MC Eiht, Scarface, and a California favorite, Snoop Dogg himself, Blakkat isn’t afraid to dig deep to get into the music, while still keeping up his business end as the CEO  of the Blaque Kat record label.

Unlike most artists, Blakkat was intent on releasing two very diverse singles to launch the release. “On My Way” is a song for real women, letting them know that “Rappers love their women, too”. “West Representa” is the summer anthem for “keeping it West”, although he acknowledges that the East Coast family is where he first found Rap and fell in love with Hip Hop. “I wanted this to be an album for the streets, clubs, ladies and thugs; there is something for everyone on this release.”

Dedicated to his growing fan base, Blakkat makes a point to perform once or twice a month, usually in the Los Angeles area. But plans are also in to the works for a tour to support the release of the new disc. “Fans can expect a genuine show from me. I give an engaging performance; I like to get the crowd involved I like to see people having fun.”

The two singles, “On My Way” and “West Representa” are available now through iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, eMusic, DFJams, and many more.  Internet radio has already caught the buzz, with fans who listen to Jango and Live365 are requesting the tunes and leaving hundreds of positive comments.

Blakkat has what it takes to make it. He knows what the streets want. He handles the misconception that Hip Hop artists are thugs that don't handle business, but as someone on the stage and signing checks as CEO, Blakkat is clearing the way for big time success.

“On My Way” will be released on June 29. For additional information, mp3s, photos, or to schedule an interview with Blakkat, please contact Laurena Marrone Campos at Grit PR, gritpr@gmail.com or 503.887.2644.

In today’s society it’s all about having three things: MONEY, POWER, and RESPECT. When two friends try to overcome the obstacles everyday life is bringing their way, they do the unthinkable: From idolizing the “balers” in the hood, they quickly rise in the ranks leading a team of hustlers as many as 50 within their organization. After framing the nickname “Young Bread Gettas” and gaining everything always hoped and wished for they now had to experience what comes along with all the glamour and glitz…

“MO MONEY” – “MO PROBLEMS”  Witness a story of two street savvy young men, who try to find a way in a world of guns, violence, and mayhem. Can these two “Yong Bread Gettas” find a route to over come all odds? Or will they become just another statistic?
